Alex Benzaquen: Alex is heading up the ATARA Finance Committee. He brings his business experience to the group as an accomplished professional employed at Proctor and Gamble for over 13 years. In his current role at P&G, he serves as Product Development and Innovation leader for a global leading business. Alex currently is also a member of the curriculum review committee and a board member of CHDS.
Melissa Bernstein, PhD, RD, LD: Dr. Melissa Bernstein has been selected to oversee the general education program. She will be working with a committee to ensure rigorous academic standards for excellence in education. Melissa has been teaching for over 20 years and is currently an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where she is also a member of the department of nutrition curriculum review committee. Melissa is the author of 3 nutrition textbooks, numerous nutrition chapters and professional journal articles. Melissa is a fourth generation Cincinnatian and is committed to the growth of our community.
Zalmy Reisman, MSW, LSW : Zalmy is originally from Brooklyn NY, and moved to Cincinnati 5 years ago with his family. He serves as secretary of the ATARA board, and also serves on the CHDS board. He has served on the CZE Finance Committee and has volunteered his time with organizations such as Jewish Family Services and the Freestore Foodbank. His current professional position is working with adults and adolescents in Butler County as a mental health therapist. Zalmy enjoys traveling, sports, and spending time with his beautiful family.
Faigie Rosedale: Faigie Rosedale is originally from Toronto, Canada where she attended Bais Yaakov High School and enjoyed a rich exposure to high quality academics and religious fervor. She then attended the renowned BJJ (Bais Jacob Jerusalem) Seminary of Jerusalem for one year and graduated with a Teacher Training Degree in 1999. Furthering her education, she graduated Suma Cum Laude from Waterloo University of Canada with a Bachelors of Science and thereafter graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from Touro College in 2004.
Faigie is the proud mother of four beautiful children and has a great passion for high quality education and Jewish values.
Pamela Samuelson, MSW,LISW: Pammy is a resident of Amberley Village with her husband, Scott, and four children who attend the Cincinnati Hebrew Day School. Her current full time professional position is counseling urban high school students and their families as a School Based Therapist, at Taft High School. She currently serves on the Allocations Committee for the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and the Building Committee for Congregation Sha’arei Torah. Past volunteer experience includes serving on the board of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, serving as a past President of the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, serving as a board member of the Cincinnati Hebrew Day School, serving on the board of Golf Manor Synagogue.
Tova Scherer: Tova will be working on the Judaic curriculum. She has ten years of experience as a Judaic Studies Teacher at Beth Tefillah in Baltimore and CHDS. Tova together with her husband Shai are the directors of camp Ashreinu. Tova brings her outstanding organizational and networking skills to the table. She is known as a person who “gets things done!”
Rabbi Yitzchak Rosedale, MA, LNHA: Yitzchak Rosedale is the President of the Board of Cincinnati Hebrew Day School (CHDS). As a division of CHDS, Rabbi Rosedale plays a key role in the integration of the high school division, as part of a larger institution. Yitzchak is also an active board member on a number of other local community institutions. Yitzchak is the Executive Vice President of CommuniCare Family of Companies, a large healthcare company based in Cincinnati. Yitzchak holds a Master’s Degree in Talmudic Law, holds an active Nursing Home Administrators License and has Rabbinical Ordination from multiple institutions in Jerusalem, Israel. He is the proud father of four children and the husband of Faigie Rosedale.
